The things that keep life running.
- Household services
- Insurance
- Important contacts
- Children’s clubs
- Bills and providers
- Where things are kept
- Useful household instructions
Family life creates hundreds of little things to remember — dates, contacts, routines, household details and the things that usually live in one person’s head.
Family Reminder is being built to help families remember, organise and share those things without turning family life into another admin project.
Currently in private testing in the UK.
Who knows which company insures the house?
Who remembers the nursery dates?
Who knows where the travel insurance email is?
Who knows which bedtime story works when your child won’t settle?
Usually somebody does.
The problem is that everyone else has to ask them.
Traditional family organisers ask you to sit down and fill everything in. We’re exploring a different approach: occasional, useful questions. You answer naturally. The useful information can then be organised for your household.
“Who services your boiler?”
“Where would someone find your travel insurance?”
“What’s your child’s favourite bedtime story right now?”
“Who should we call about the dog if you’re away?”
“Where is your stopcock?”
“What snack always cheers your youngest up?”
No big questionnaire. No blank page. Just one useful thing at a time.
A family isn’t just accounts, documents and dates.
The things that keep life running.
The things that make it your family.
We’re also testing how families could leave reminders for themselves or someone in their household.
“Remind Katy to take the wellies to nursery on Monday.”
“Remind us Grandma is coming on Sunday.”
“Remind me to pay nursery by Wednesday.”
Illustrative reminders · features in private testingAn occasional small question. We’re testing familiar conversational channels, including WhatsApp, as part of the private beta.
No forms. Just answer naturally, in your own words.
Useful information is gradually organised so the people you choose can find it later.
Family Reminder is currently in private development. Features shown here illustrate the product we are testing.
We’re also exploring a private web application where households could review and manage their information.
Your insurance may already be in your email. Your documents may already be stored elsewhere. That’s fine.
Family Reminder isn’t being designed to make you move everything into another app. Sometimes the useful information is simply knowing where to look.
“Travel insurance is with Aviva. It’s in my email. Search Aviva travel insurance.”
Family Reminder is being designed around privacy from the beginning. We intend to collect only information needed to provide the service, give households control over what they share, and avoid encouraging users to store highly sensitive credentials such as banking passwords.
During the current website/private-beta stage, do not send us passwords, payment-card details, online banking credentials or other authentication secrets.
